Mr. Marcus Holt graduated from Crestview High School and from Crestview
Vocational School in 1978. Marcus grew up in and around construction work, so the apprenticeship
was shortened. After apprenticeship, he worked as a framing and concrete forms subcontractor.
During this time, he framed houses and light commercial buildings ranging in cost from $40,000
to $750,000. Marcus then worked as a commercial contruction superintendent, assisting with projects
ranging from $325,000 to $1,250,000. He has also worked as an estimator, project manager, and field
supervisor. In 1991, Marcus formed Marcus Holt Building Contractor.
Mr. Roger D. Meeks has been involved with construction for almost thirty years. He graduated from Lowndes High
School in 1967. While in High School, Roger studied drafting and industrial arts for four years. Roger then attended Valdosta
Area Vocational Technical School where he studied Drafting and Design Technology for two and a half years. He has also attended
training schools for Butler, Stran, and Varco-Pruden Pre-Engineered Building Systems, as well as several seminars for Butler and
Stran Pre-Engineered Buildings and various seminars in Concrete Construction. Roger attends Morningside Baptist Church, where
he serves as an usher.
For the past thirty years, Roger has worked as a draftsman-estimator, for which his responsibilities included sales and field
coordination with superintendents, architects, and owners. He expedited jobs as well. Roger also owned and operated his own
construction company. In November 1997, Roger joined Marcus Holt Building Contractor, Inc., and he is now Vice President of the
company.
Melinda Holt graduated from Lowndes High School and is currently pursuing an Early Childhood Education degree from Valdosta State University. Melinda has been with Marcus Holt Construction since June 1998, and is currently the office manager.
